Developments

Testing each of my main concepts out with collage/colour so I have a direction and more of a creative vision.

^ What will be on their mind? Drawing inspiration from these images we analysed in class, I want to play with the silhouette of a troubled child. Using the notepad paper explicitly relates it to schooling, and like the first image I want to do a detailed illustration on the inside. Perhaps a collage style such as the right-hand image could also be experimented with, although this may cause issues with found images.

^ See the world every year for the cost of a private school education.
I wish to produce this concept digitally, as I think it will come across well this way, or using photography. Initially I was going to use silhouettes of planes, however the idea of paper planes seems more fitting into the school setting and visually appealing. This was my first attempt at what the poster will look like. However, these images below are also inspiring me to change my composition and style. The idea of setting up a photoshoot with cut-outs of planes and clouds would sit really well with children and education, and the use of colour to show experiences would be a clear way to show what you would be missing out on.

^ Playing with rhetoric for my typography poster. I think I have decided on "Education segregation is just as closed-minded as the rich folk who support it." The first example of the typography is beautiful, and will be aiming for a similar aesthetic. The last image is more inspiration for my plate statistic/graph and I think is really clever (I may use fish and chips or another NZ delicacy to portray).

Tomorrow I will be creating these posters in a presentable and easily interpreted way, then from there choosing 2 and developing those even further into posters and images that I am proud of and will gladly show at the 'shared moment' on Monday. I want them as refined as possible so I can receive critical and constructive feedback.
